Position Paper Requirements
Page Set Up:
1 Page per Topic
1.15 Spaced
Times New Roman
Title the PDF document: Position - First and Last Name - Committee Abbreviation
Example: United States - Mohammad Atiya - SOCHUM
Both topics should be in the same PDF file for the committee.
Paragraph Make Up:
First Paragraph - Background information pertaining to your position of the topic.
Second Paragraph - Past actions your position has done pertaining to the topic.
Third Paragraph - Possible solutions your position would be in favor - to solve the topic.
Position Paper Guidelines
Number of Papers
Committees with two topics (Topic A and Topic B): Delegates must write one page per topic (2 pages total).
Committees with one topic: Delegates must write one position paper (1 page total).
Submission Requirement
All position papers must be combined into one single PDF file and submitted to the portal.
If your committee has two topics, your PDF must include two pages:
Page 1 – Topic A
Page 2 – Topic B
Delegates may include a Works Cited or References section, if desired. This page does not count toward the one-page-per-topic limit.
The heading must be in this format, including the titles following the colin (:)
FOR EACH TOPIC
Example:
Committee: Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM)
Topic A: Refugees in Sanctuary Cities
Country: United States
School: DePaul University
Delegate: Mohammad Atiya
